"Planning and design of logistics system" mainly introduces the analytic tools, approaches, and techniques which are applied in the design and planning of logistics system. From the perspective of management, the course emphasizes how to improve the overall performance of logistics system and reduce the operation cost of logistics system with these specific tools. Combined with the practical research and application, for the production and circulation of logistics activities, the course analyzes the theory and application of the logistic network design, the transportation planning, the inventory planning, the warehouse design, and the planning of the manufacturing logistic system and the reverse logistic. Through this course, students should have a high efficient operation of the logistics system based on customer needs, to make a balance between service levels and costs.
