物流地理学是以地理学的观点，从区域经济的角度分析物流现象，研究各种物流的地域布局问题的学科。物流地理是物流学和经济地理学相结合的一门综合性学科，同许多相邻学科有着极其密切的关系，包括物流学、地理学、经济地理学等，是介于社会经济科学、自然科学和技术科学之间的边缘学科。物流地理学既包括各经济部门在地域间的布局，也包括各地区经济部门的结构、规模和发展，以及地域布局和部门结构的相互联系，具有综合性特征。物流地理学在如何实现物流产业与第一产业、第二产业及第三产业主要部门的整合、如何加快各区域物流中心的建设与规划等方面均可以发挥其作用，为国民经济的发展做出贡献。 

Logistic geography studies the regional geographical distribution of different logistic activities with a view of geographical study and regional economic growth. It is a combined discipline of logistics and economic geography, closely related with other frontier subjects, including logistics, geography and geographical economics.

The study involves not only the general distribution of economic sectors in different areas, the structure, scale and development of these economic sectors, but also intrinsic links between the geographical distribution and the structure of economic sectors. It has a comprehensive feature. The research on geographical logistics contributes to national economic growth by proposing perspectives on how to integrate logistic industry into the first industry, the second industry and the tertiary industry and how to accelerate the planning and construction of regional logistic centers.
