空间分析是指分析具有空间坐标或相对位置的数据和过程的理论和方法。近年来，GIS与空间分析以及计量地理的结合对于揭示不同尺度上城市和区域系统的形态和功能，分析区域和城市的自然和社会形态形成了重要的方法和技术。因此，在遥感和GIS应用课程的基础上，又开设了城市空间分析课程，作为高级GIS应用技术和方法的学习。
在本课程中，将沿着空间信息/数据分析的流程进行讲述，进一步阐述不同类型的空间分析过程，包括空间数据的预处理、空间统计分析、空间过程建模以及空间评价、运筹和决策支持等。在教学方法上，以实验教学为主，以城市与区域科学中的典型案例为实验项目，通过软件操作进行城市空间分析方法的学习。

In this course, teaching and learning will bythe processes of spatial information/ dataanalysis, then different types ofspatial analysisprocess will be elaborated, including pre-treatmentof spatial data,spatial statisticalanalysis, spatialmodelingand spatialevaluationprocess, logistics and decision supportand so on.For teaching methods, experimentalteaching will be the most mainly method,based on software operation and takenurbanand regionalsciencestypical caseasexperimental projects,urban spatialanalysismethod can be introduced.
